iMobility Challenge tours Luxembourg
Colmar Berg driver training center, Luxembourg
On 14 May iMobility Challenge organised an event at the “Colmar Berg driver training center”. This is the location where every young driver in Luxembourg has to go to undergo second phase training after obtaining their driving license, to raise their traffic safety awareness. Next to the center a Goodyear testing and race track is also located and was put to use for the event too. The event contained both plenary demonstrations (presented to the entire audience attending the event), and individual test-drives for attendants who wished to try out various technologies behind the wheel for themselves. Plenary demos included latest active safety systems demonstrated by Delphi and Volvo (including autonomous braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning); electric mobility with the new Tesla model S; and the new generation of intelligent tires provided by Goodyear.
The event was opened by Mr Yves Wagner, ACL President; Mr Jean Todt, FIA President; Mr François Bausch, Luxembourg Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure; and Mrs Colette Maloney, European Commission, Head of Unit Smart Cities and Sustainability.
