More exciting events in the second half of 2014!

On October 9, vehicle technology demonstrations will be offered to high-level representatives of industry, public authorities and the media in Barcelona on the premises of the Football Club Barcelona’s stadium (Camp Nou). The event will be followed by a high-level seminar on intelligent vehicle technologies, and in subsequent days (10-13 October) demonstrations will also be offered to the general public at the RACC motorshow (‘RACC Salon’) in the center of Barcelona. Some of the key demos will include advanced emergency braking systems equipped with pedestrian detection; advanced parking assistance systems; electric vehicles and electric vehicle sharing services; ecodriving applications; and eCall.

On November 18, we will have a conference “Intelligent Mobility for Smart Cities” in Brussels: a perfect way to culminate the numerous demonstration events we have organised throughout the iMobility Challenge. Key transport innovations, ideas on how we will move around in the cities of tomorrow and a vision of future vehicles will be presented and discussed. Key speakers for the conference are already confirmed, such as John Baekelmans – Chief Technology Officer at Cisco’s Smart+Connected Communities. In May and June, we had been busy with two public demonstration events in Luxembourg and Helsinki. The Helsinki event was held as part of the European ITS congress and we organised an ecodriving competition with Finnish F1 celebrity Valtteri Bottas (watch our event recap movie below), and published a study on consumer awareness and demand for intelligent vehicle technologies.
