Dynamic traffic light optimisation

The service combines dynamic traffic light optimisation with advice on optimal approaching speed provided to the driver. The objective of the dynamic traffic light optimisation is to optimise journey times and delays in urban, signal controlled networks by controlling in real-time the green-times, cycle times and green waves. The traffic light system predicts the “time to green” and calculates optimum speed for vehicles approaching the intersection. This information is then communicated to in-vehicle units. To the driver is presented either the time-to-green information or the in-vehicle unit determines the optimal approaching speed profile for the vehicle. The service may be provided at isolated intersections and in networks consisting of several signalised intersections equipped with network-level traffic optimisation features.
